grooming
Often pets are being neglected without the owner knowing. Most do not completely inspect their pet, therefore concerns can be easily overlooked. While being professionally groomed, we are able to examine your pet from head to tail.
If you ever have questions about your pets grooming needs, we are happy to assist.
When nails are left unattended, they can grow long, not allowing for weight to be properly distributed. This can cause long term affects such as splaying of the feet and arthritis. Dew claws are never in contact with hard surfaces, if left unattended may grow into the thumb pad causing infection. Long nails may also get stuck or even break off which can be very painful.
Every pet is different with their needs for nail trimming. On average most pets should have their nails done monthly.
Broken nail
When hair or fur has not been thoroughly brushed and combed, it will start to tangle and knot up. If these knots are left unattended they will become bigger and bigger.
Matting can become heavy, pulling on the skin causing irritation and bruising. If mats become wet, this may cause bacteria growth and lead to infection.
When matting becomes too extreme to brush out, the only option is to clip the coat away from the skin. This may bring to surface the irritations that have been kept unvisable.
